Swedish Massage

60 Mins - £75

30 Mins - £40

Swedish Massage was developed by Peter Henrik Ling (1776-1839) a Swedish physician and athlete, who combined Chinese medical massage techniques with sports medicine to create a technique for decreasing muscle soreness, increasing flexibility and promoting general health. The massage involves lots of movements such as long and gliding movements, kneading, vibration, tapping and friction.

There are so many documented benefits from receiving a Swedish massage. The mental benefits include an increase of serotonin in the brain which leads to a reduction in depression and anxiety and contributes to better emotional wellbeing and balance.  Massage also reduces our stress levels by calming the nervous system leading to high levels of relaxation.

Most of us have such busy and demanding lives where stress can become overwhelming leading to many physical and emotional problems.

Swedish massage helps to clear the body and mind of unwanted responses to stress.

Physical benefits include: improved posture, improved blood circulation, endorphin release to improve mood, massage flushes out metabolic products detoxing the system and supports a healthy immune system. It increases energy, improves sleep and relieves headaches.

Overall, the significant benefits of Swedish massage make it clear that a regular massage regime is more than a luxury, but indeed an essential component in the cultivation of physical and emotional wellbeing.

My massage treatments all have the same intention. To offer clients a safe sanctuary where they can switch off from the world, recharge and rebalance their vital energies and hopefully emerge like a butterfly from a cocoon, feeling freer and lighter both physically and emotionally.

Indian Head Massage

30 Mins - £40

Indian Head Massage originated in India around 1800BC  from the system of medicine known as Ayurveda. The underlying philosophy is that health results from harmony within one’s whole self. It has evolved from traditional techniques practiced in India as part of family rituals and involves massage to the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, face and scalp, with the client remaining seated in an upright position. Although Indian Head Massage has been in existence in India for many years, it has only recently started to gain popularity in the West.

Through various techniques, the treatment works by releasing any blocked negative energy in the body that might be manifesting as injury or disease in any of the seven Chakras (energy centres) of the body. It is done by applying certain pressure on specific points on the neck, shoulders, and head corresponding to each Chakra (which is also a similar approach to that of reflexology). By unblocking the Chakras, it allows a free flow of energy in the body resulting to the restoration of an individual back to excellent health and feelings of wellbeing.

Physical benefits include: Relief of built up tension that can oftentimes result in headaches, migraines, neck and or back pain. Detoxification of the body by stimulating lymphatic drainage which boosts overall immunity. Improvement of circulation, which in turn increases energy levels. Promotion of clarity and increased concentration. Soothes symptoms of asthma by calming the respiratory system and many more. Also, an Indian Head massage may help improve overall mental health by relieving the symptoms of anxiety and depression, providing relief from stress, promoting relaxation and reducing insomnia and aiding restful sleep as well as renewing energy levels.

Take care of your body it's the only place you have to live.
